This is the start of the journey. A blog to help small business owners (or potential new starters) understand finances, accountancy, tech and the financial world. I am aiming to write in an understandable informal style that can help you in your business and be enjoyable!

I will be upskilling over the next few months and so there will be some projects posted on subjects such as SQL, Python, Excel and more.

Until recently I had my own accountancy practice and really enjoyed working with business owners but was frustrated with the lack of time that I had to really interact with them. Too busy with the technical work of producing their accounts and filing tax returns.

This is a common problem for both accountants and business owners. Often leading to clients feeling disconnected from their accountant or even intimidated by the complexity of the language and data presented to them. I really want to help bridge this gap by providing information and guides/coaching.

So, what can you expect?

I have big plans and not all will be possible but let’s aim high. Here are the contents I would like to provide:

• Podcast with business owners
• Coaching courses
• Use of analytics in small business
• How you can utilize technology and AI in small business

These are some of the areas I would like to offer but I won’t be ruling anything out!

The website will be a little bit WIP at first but I would rather get started with some content than wait until everything is perfectly shiny!
